John Thomas Limes was a plasterer by trade in the Columbus, Ohio area.
The description states they were residing at 2364 Burwell Avenue in Columbus, Ohio at the time of their anniversary. It also states that the couple had lived in Columbus since 1888.
"They have three sons and two daughters, all now living and married; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Among the many gifts were more than a hundred dollars in gold." More than 60 guests helped them celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Only a few days later, on January 16, 192 3, John Limes died from a stroke. How sad for both of them after celebrating such a joyous event. His death certificate shows Wesley Limes as his father and Martha Miller as his mother.
Sarah Catherine Duvall Limes outlived her husband by several years as you can see from her tombstone inscription. She died on July 9, 1936. Benjamin Penn Duvall (Green Lawn Cemetery) was her grandfather. Her father, is the Jeremiah Duvall (stone you have on the web at Forest Cemetery). This Duvall family originated from Maryland, and then Bedford, Pennsylvania (Dr. Jeremiah Duvall) and then Franklin an d Pickaway Counties. I have two three-ring binders of materials I collected on their ancestry.
