Gladys Marling, only daughter of Ralph and Margaret McBride Marling, born December 2, 1900 in Columbus. After the death of her mother when Gladys was seven years old, her father moved the family to Elkhart, Indiana. Later Gladys lived for a while with her Aunt Lavina in Dayton, Ohio and until she married Leland Vincent Norris on April 30, 1920 in Elkhart.
