JAMES ROBERT "BOB" DOWNS, SR.
(1917-1998)
Contributed by:
Lori Jackey
Lori Jackey says, "This is my grandfather, James Robert 'Bob' Downs, Sr. who lived his whole life in Columbus. He worked as a milkman for Borden's, Inc., retiring in 1981 after 43 years of service. He was such a fun loving man. "Anything you can do, I can do better." was a motto he lived by. You name it, bowling, euchre, waterskiing; he would do it all. Rumor has it that at one time one of his customers was Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s Restaurants. I’m not sure of the date of this photo, but would guess it to be in the 1940’s. Grandpa looks young!" Return to Franklin County Photo Album 1 | 2 | 3 | 4
