Stony Point Cemetery is located on Zook Road about a quarter (¼) mile east of Claibourne Road. Beers 1883 History of Union County, Ohio has little to say about this rural cemetery, only this, found on page 583, "At Stony Point, in the western part of the township, is a graveyard, where the dead of that vicinity are interred." The earliest gravestone found was dated 1851, and the most recent was 1971. There were probably earlier burials, but no stones were found with a date of death before 1851. The photographs on this page were taken on July 3, 2009 and are a complete photographic inventory of the cemetery as it is now. For a complete list of inscriptions taken at an earlier date go to Stony Point Cemetery Inscriptions.
