Southard Cemetery, located near the extreme western boundary of the towhship. Can be found at the right angle formed when Ohio 47 turns toward West Mansfield. It is just a little north of Davis Road (County 301) where County Hwy. 259 (Newton-Perkins Rd) ends at Ohio 47. The sign states that the cemetery is on the site of Nations Chapel (1853-1868). Beers 1883 county history states that ". . . when the building became old and dilapidated, it was pronounced unsafe, and the society divided, a fraction affiliating with the Methodist Church at West Mansfield, the remainder forming a new society."
