Mount Herman Cemetery is located on the southeast corner of White Stone Road and County Home Road. It is still an active cemetery and is very well cared for. It was obvious to us, as we photographed the stones, that the oldest section of the cemetery, nearest County Home Road had been completely restored sometime in the summer of 2009. While photographing that section we found several new stones that were obiviously replacements for missing and/or eroded stones. And it became painfully obvious that many of the stones that were still readable in 1984 had been damaged or broken in the intervening years. There is an In Memoriam stone that was Dedicated in 2003. This page contains a complete photographic inventory completed on Novebemer 1-2, 2009.

According to the Beers 1883 History of Union County, Ohio the first person buried at this cemetery was a child of Perry Eubanks (no date is given). There are many veterans buried here and in 1998 the township erected a memorial honoring them.

NOTE: Items that are underlined in black are the Webmaster's "best guess." Items found in brackets ( [ ] ) are either documented, i.e. death certificates, or were found in the published records.
