According to Beers 1883 History of Union County, Ohio, Hopewell Cemetery was once connected to Hopewell Methodist Episcopal Church. The church was organized about 1830 at the home of Samuel Martin, but by 1883 there were no regular services being held and the church building is long gone. The cemetery remains and is still in use, cared for by the towhsip. It is located on the south side of Hopewell Road about a half mile east of State Route 4. This page contains a complete photographic inventory of the cemetery.
