In 1985 three charter members of the Union County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society set out to take a reading of the cemetery. They were Dorothy Robinson, Julia Yoder, and Mary Seslar. Here is what they recorded about that day, as found in, Claibourne Township Cemetery Records, complied by members of the Union County Genealogical Society (Marysville, n.d.), page 114:East side of LeMasters Road just north of Mulvane Road in the woods south of Big Swale abandoned brick school. The first school here was called the Lenox School. The lot for the cemetery [was] donated by William Hamilton. These stones were located by probing the woods floor. We photographed all the stones that were in evidence on January 23, 2012. All of them were also on the 1985 list. Additionaly, the ladies mentioned two footstones with the letters, "P.J.M." and "A.B." We found a few footstones, but the photographs do not appear here. They are lettered, "L.S." - "P.J.M." - "J.N.P." We also found a broken and illegible stone not mentioned by the ladies when they took the reading of their findings. The woods have been cut down and you can see the tree stumps in the photograph above. A few trees were left standing along the sides of the cemetery.
