Hester Ann Reed Heather

Hester Ann Reed was the daughter and seventh child of Thomas and Jane (Robinson) Reed, born August 19, 1846 in rural Union County, died December 22, 1884 in Otoe County, Nebraska.  Hester moved from Ohio to Nebraska after her mother's death and worked as a teacher until her marriage to William Young Heather on March 26, 1874 in Otoe County.  During their nine years together Hester and William Heather had three children, a girl and two boys, all of whom remained in Otoe County their whole lives.  Hester is buried at Hopewell Church Cemetery not far from Syracuse, Nebraska.
