Gravestone Photographs
We literally stumbled on the remnants of what was once a small cemetery in rural Jefferson Township. We were unable to find it on any contemporary maps, or in the U. S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System (USGS GNIS). It is located at the end of Snyder Lane, just north of I-70 and east of Rt. 29. Only one broken gravestone was still standing and it was the only thing that indicated, from a distance, that there had ever been a cemetery located here. Someone has tried to preserve the remaining gravestones by simply laying them side by side in a row. Some stones were still legible; others had not fared so well--all are shown here as they lay, left to right.
