Gravestone Photographs

Wagnor Cemetery, also known as Triplett Cemetery, is located on the north side of Central College Road a little over a mile west of US Route 62 (Johnstown Road).  It is well cared for by the township trustees, though some of the stones are in poor condition.  The Ohio Historical Marker that stands just inside the entrance gives a brief history of the early use of the immediate area and cemetery.

On July 4, 2004 a complete photographic inventory was made of this cemetery and, with the exception of a few photos that need to be retaken, the results appear here.  There are a several stacked stones that were not photographed as their size discouraged moving them for fear of causing more damage, and there is a small scattering of broken stones.  Near one corner of the cemetery a large tree limb had fallen a few gravestones seem to have been broken when it fell.  Someone is in the process of cutting the limb up; it can only be hoped that they cause no further damage to the broken stones.  Twenty photos were either too weathered or too badly damaged to be able to read the inscriptions.  In a few instances the identity was discovered in volume four (of eleven), Franklin County, Ohio Cemeteries; Blendon & Plain Townships, compiled by the Franklin County Genealogical Society (Columbus 1981), pages 49-50.  Information derived from that source has been enclosed in brackets ( [] ).
