DURNFORD Joanne Fields Durnford, 80, resident of Winter Park and Oviedo, FL for
40 years, died on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Born on June 1, 1928, she grew up
in Columbus, OH, with sisters Jean, Betty and Nancy. A loving mother and fun-
filled friend, Jo moved to Winter Park after 25 years of traveling with her USMC
husband and 4 children. Jo retired in 1993 after working 25 years for Thomas
Lawton, DDS. Jo was preceded in death by her son Scott, former husband Dewey,
parents Minnie and Lawrence Fields and sisters Betty and Jean. To carry her leg-
acy of faithful friendships, laughter and love, she leaves 3 children, Kathi,
Winter Park, FL, Thomas, Myrtle Beach, SC, Vicki, Chester, VA; sister, Nancy
Dougherty, Kettering, OH; and grandkids, Chanda, Coleman and Parker. She also
leaves 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and their children. Friends may call at the SOUTHWICK-
GOOD & FORTKAMP FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High St., Friday 1:30-2:30 p.m. Graveside
service and inurnment will follow at Union Cemetery.
