Gravestone Photographs

The earliest stone found at Seceder (aka Old United Presbyterian) Cemetery bears a 1818 date.  The cemetery is behind a strip mall on the west side of State Route 256 (Baltimore-Reynoldsburg Road) between Livingston Avenue and I-70 in Reynoldsburg an cannot be seen from the road.  Surrounded on tow sides by an apartment complex and on the fourth by an uncut field, the cemetery is enclosed a six foot high fence.  It seems well cared for by the city of Reynoldsburg, though there is graffiti painted on a few of the stones.  Understandably, the gates are kept locked, but there is a phone number posted for those who would like to gain access.

Several veterans of our country's early wars are buried here including five veterans of the Revolutionary War who were honored with a plaque placed by the DAR in 2003.

A complete photographic inventory of the cemetery was taken on 3 September 2004.  In addition to the whole, or nearly whole, legible stones we photographed all the broken and/or illegible stones--39 photos.  If you believe that your ancestor is buried at this cemetery, but there is no photo, please, contact Leona at .  Please put Seceder Cemetery in the subject line.
