assistant in New York office of Gulf Oil Co. with whom he has served in Venezuela
and Denmark. Member of the American Assn of Petroleum Geologists, Ohio Oil and Gas
Assn., American Institute of Petroleum.  Graduate of OSU, 1916, in Geology. Member,
Delta Theta Sigma.  Took post-graduate work at Stanford University . Veteran of World
War I. Member of the Groveport Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine, University, Club of
Columbus. Survived by wife, Roberta Flory Baird; son Chester A. Jr., Houston, Tex; 2
daughters, Mrs. Herbert J. Howe, New Orleans, Mrs. James B. Meyer, Sherman Oaks, Calif.;
1 grandchild; sister Mrs. Frank R. Main of Columbus.  Service, Friday 2 p.m. at the
Schoedinger State St. Chapel where friends may call Thursday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m.
Interment Green Lawn Cemetery . Pall bearers, Richard Roberts, Houston , Tex ; James
Buckley, Sharon, Conn; Dr. Frank Rasar, Canal Winchester; Barton Griffith, Prof.
