Gravestone PhotographsThe Huntington Chapel, with it's beautiful Tiffany windows, was dedicated in 1902. A plaque on one wall has been placed to honor Pelatiah Webster Huntington (1836-1918), one of Columbus' leading citizens. He also donated the organ for the chapel. Many Columbus residents have opted to be entombed inside this lovely refuge. Among those entombed here are Governor James A. Rhodes and his wife, Helen. Governor Rhodes served served the people of Ohio as governor (1963-71 and 1975-83) longer than any other man and was second only to Governor George Wallace of Alabama in the number of terms served. Additionaly, he served the people of Columbus as mayor for two terms (1943-1952).
