Donald Raymond Braskett   
BRASKETT Donald Raymond Braskett, age 77, October 9, 1929 - February 5, 2007,
passed away at his son's home in Pickerington. Don was appointed to the Columbus
Division of Fire on March 3, 1953, promoted to Lieutenant on September 14, 1973,
and retired on May 28, 1977. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus and 1947 gra-
duate of Central High School where he maintained friendships with many classmates
until his death. He was an avid sportsman and member of the Buckeye Sports and Lei-
sure Club, the Redmen Club, and OSU Lady Buckeyes Rebounders. Son of the late Celia
and Harry Braskett, he was also preceded in death by brother Harry and sister Mary
Margaret. Remembering his life is his loving family, daughter, Terri Braskett of
Riverside, California; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Belger of Riverside, California; daug-
hter, Dawn (Gary) Render of Gahanna; and son, Donald (Susan) Braskett, Jr. of Pick-
erington; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Donald will also be
dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Service 10 a.m.
Friday, February 9 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME, 2383 N. High St., where family will
receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gar-
dens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Don's name to: Col-
umbus Fire Fighter's Local 67, Benefit Fund through any National City Bank.
