Gravestone Photographs

The land for Concord Cemetery (aka Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery) is said to have been owned by Isaac Miller who sold the land for the cemetery.  According to some records the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery was established in 1849. Other records state that it was established November 26, 1872. The congregation was disbanded a few years ago and the building sat empty until it was purchased by two veterinarians and converted into an animal hospital. The doctors designed the renovation to maintain it's "historical presence." You can see the can view photos of the inside at Concord Chapel Animal Hospital and at 2009 Hospital Design People's Choice Award winner: Concord Chapel Animal Hospital.

The oldest part of the the cemetery (Old Concord Cemetery) is directly linked to the church (north of the ditch) and has been closed for many years.  Many graves are unmarked; possibly they never were except in the memories of those left behind.  All gravestones that remain at the cemetery have been photographed by Dave Gustafson and appear below.  Three of the names on this page were found in the published cemetery index, Franklin County, Ohio Cemeteries, Jackson & Pleasant Townships, compiled by the Franklin County Genealogical Society, (Columbus, 1988), volume 10 of 11. pages 36-37.
